Almost everyone is wondering how things are going in real estate. Is it picking up? Are prices still falling? Well, I'm here to tell you that things are definitely picking up! YEAH! Right? We all need to hear something positive, for a change.
This first quarter of 2012 has shown major signs of improvement. We still have REOs, short sales and distressed properties causing a challenge in getting any sort of price increase for sellers. BUT, the buyers are feeling a little more confidence and are looking, AND here's the kicker......there are more contracts being written!
Here are some stats for our local market:
Pending Sales for February were up by 20.51% to 94 versus February of last year at 78 that went under contract.
With 246 newly listed homes this month and 94 under contract, the sales success index of 38.21% for February advanced 13.65% versus last year’s index of 33.62% in 2011
