A little about Jenny
I was born on September 5, 1955, in Randolph County, Indiana. I am the youngest of 3 children. I have a sister and a brother, who both still reside in Indiana. It's been said, we should be in "Ripley's Believe It or Not" because we were all born on September 5th with 3 years between each of us. First my sister, then my brother and then me. As a child I was able to celebrate twice a year with a large number of presents, PLUS 3 cakes on our birthday. Yes, our mother actually baked each of us a separate birthday cake. You can imagine how long we got to eat cake as a dessert. It was great!
Upon graduation from high school, I went on to further my education by becoming a graduate of Porter Business College, where I received a paralegal degree.
In 1976 I took a job as a receptionist at a local radio station in Indiana, which is where I met my husband, Terry. We were married in 1977.
My husband worked in radio for several years while I worked as a paralegal. We decided we'd like to venture out and start our own business while we were in our mid 20's and very ambitious. We borrowed enough money to open our own sports store, Athletic Annex. That was in 1980. I worked that business along side of my husband for 20 years. My husband still runs that business on his own.
I, however, decided to combine my legal experience with my customer care skills and started a career in the real estate business in 2001. I consider myself blessed in life and in the real estate business.
In 1986 my husband and I had our only child, Trent. What a wonderful blessing he is to have in our life. Trent is now attending Bridgewater College, in Bridgewater, Virginia, with a business major. Trent will is approaching graduation in the spring of 2008.
Over the years we have had a number of house dogs. Golden Retrievers have become our favorites because they are such gentle giants. In January of 2006 we adopted a golden retriever, who we named Bob. What about Bob? Well, he was born 3/21/05. Bob has a slight heart murmur. Therefore, his breeder wanted to adopt him out rather than breed him. We are working to help Bob adjust to his new surroundings...a home rather than a kennel. He's a great walker and loves his new found neighbor friends.
Since Bob seemed so lonely, we decided to get him a little playmate at Christmas 2007. That's when we introduced a new little girl to our family....Abby
Needless to say...our lives are not the same now that we have 2 dogs to walk in the mornings. However, it certainly brings a lot of joy to have them greet us at the door when we arrive home after a stressed filled day.
Over the years I have gained an interest in early morning walks, crafts (especially jewelry making), dogs & life in general.
After watching my father die of cancer, I have learned life is just too short not to enjoy every moment. I am taking time to make memories, and to appreciate even the smallest things.
I hope you will call me when you contemplate buying or selling a home in our "gorgeous Shenandoah Valley." |
