A little about Jenny
I was born on September 5, 1955, in Randolph County, Indiana. I am the youngest of 3 children. I have a sister and a brother, who both still reside in Indiana.
It's been said, we should be in "Ripley's Believe It or Not" because we were all born on September 5th with 3 years between each of us. First my sister, then 3 years later my brother and then 3 years later me.
Upon graduation from high school, I went on to further my education by attending Porter Business College in Idianapolis, where I received a paralegal degree. I worked as a paralegal for 8 years.
In 1976 I took a job as a receptionist at a local radio station in Indiana, which is where I met my husband, Terry. We were married in 1977.
My husband worked in radio for several years, while I worked as a paralegal. We decided we'd like to venture out and start our own business while we were in our mid 20's and very ambitious. We borrowed enough money to open our own sports store, Athletic Annex. That was in 1980....when interest rates were 18%! If you think interest rates are high now, they're great compared to the early 1980's. Can you imagine paying a mortgage with an interest rate of 18%?
My husband and I worked together at the Athletic Annex from 1980 until 2000. At which time I decided to combine my legal experience with my customer care skills and got my license to sell real estate.
I consider myself blessed in life and in the real estate business. Throughout my years as a Realtor, I have worked hard to build a professional image. Trying to treat my clients as I would want to be treated. I have received numerous awards from RE/MAX and have had the pleasure of meeting a number of wonderful people.
I pride myself in being understanding and patient, with my family, friends and clients. I will do whatever I can to help (within reason).
If you're considering buying or selling a home in our "gorgeous" Shenandoah Valley, I hope you will call me.
My values?
After watching my father die of cancer, I have learned life is just too short not to enjoy every moment. I am taking time to make memories, and to appreciate even the smallest things.
Now to tell you a little about my family:
In 1986 my husband and I had our only child, Trent. What a wonderful blessing he is to have in our life. He has graduated from Bridgewater College, with a degree in business administration. He is now working for Ameriprise Financial in Richmond, Virginia, and I know he would appreciate an opportunity to sit down and discuss your estate planning with you. Feel free to call him at 804-747-1214 to schedule an appointment.
Below is a little about my pets:
Over the years we have had a number of house dogs. Golden Retrievers have become our favorites. It seems they are gentle giants. In January of 2006 we adopted a golden retriever, who we named Bob. What about Bob? Well, he was born 3/21/05. Bob has a slight heart murmur. Therefore, his breeder wanted to adopt him out, rather than breed him. We are working to help Bob adjust to his new surroundings...a home rather than a kennel. He's a great walker and loves his new found neighbor friends.
Since Bob seemed so lonely, we decided to get him a little playmate at Christmas 2007. That's when we introduced a new little girl to our family....Abby
Needless to say...my life isn't the same now that I have 2 dogs to walk in the mornings. However, it certainly brings a lot of joy to have them greet us at the door when we arrive home after a stressed filled day.
Over the years I have gained an interest in early morning walks, crafts (especially jewelry making), friends & family, dogs & life in general.
